Preamble
This page presents a graphical overview of the range of activities undertaken by Nexus Knowledge over many years, most of which have been designed and delivered by Colin Edward Egan in association with long-term clients from the university and corporate sectors. All of the engagements have had an international outlook, hence the alignment of Nexus Knowledge with Global Business Strategy.

Two of the ‘Major Projects’, The IBM Marketing University and the BP Sales and Marketing Academy, were implemented by Colin and his early mentor and abiding collaborator, the late Professor David Shipley of Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin, Ireland. David was an outstanding teacher of ‘students’ with business experience, ranging from sales managers attending basic training courses at the Chartered Institute of Marketing to senior executives from BP and IBM participating in leadership and executive development programmes.

Nexus Knowledge philosophy
The ‘Chakra Mandala’ motif represents the Nexus Knowledge vision of enabling the successful delivery of global business strategies via the education and development of executives and managers responsible for their implementation. This is wholly consistent with the stated philosophy of Outside Fortress Europe: Strategies for the Global Market:

This is a book with an attitude which acknowledges scholarly debate, but which expresses its own opinion, particularly regarding what is possible for companies to achieve despite the naysayers who claim otherwise. It is aimed at smart managers who want to create and run Intelligent Companies. It reflects a desire for positive organizational and personal change and it emphasises that there is no need to draw a distinction between academic theory and business practice: one begets the other and positive transformation is indeed achievable through effective leadership, management development, operational excellence and employee engagement. The first category of Nexus Knowledge engagements listed on this page focuses on one course: Global Business Strategies (GBS). First developed at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, in 1991 as an amalgam of international business and strategic management courses, it has recently been translated in full into Chinese and delivered by Colin with simultaneous interpretation to executives attending a Masters Programme at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Business School.
